Sustainability
built into every home
The Wood Group is one of the Country’s leading house builders and sustainability is at the core of everything we do, from the design of the homes and the neighbourhoods we build, to the way we run our business. When you buy a Wood Group home, you share in our commitment to environmental responsibility by enjoying a range of features we provide to help to reduce environmental impact.
small carbon footprint
Energy
Wood Group Homes boast very high energy conservation qualities and all our newest homes achieve an A2 or A1 BER rating. This ensures a very small carbon footprint and a significant reduction in running costs.
high performance
Light
All Wood Group homes are fitted with high performance low maintenance windows. In our Seagreen and Greenwood developments for example, we use NorDan AluClad and timber windows delivering peak thermal and acoustic standards with one handle operated tilt and turn sashes. All our Churchland’s homes include Munster Joinery Triple Glazed uPVC windows and doors giving market leading performance.
very low carbon impact
Heat
To achieve a very low carbon impact, we use a variety of space and water heating systems, including heat pumps, gas fired and solar enhanced heating, photo voltaic and thermal solar panels. We include as standard market leading electronic controls and thermostatically controlled radiators.
High Spec
Thermal
We utilise high spec insulation and air tightness solutions, including for example blown fibre ‘Foam-Lok’ open cell spray foam insulation in attics to achieve very high thermal values while maximising space usage.
